Letti Hempstock beneath the chestnut trees. Has she been waiting there for a hundred years to take my hand and show me where unnamed creatures sleep. She knows what I think. My mind is her’s to read. She knows. Ursula Monkton was such an evil thing. Seductively, she came and took over everything. She tried to lock me up in the attic once again. I’ve tried escaping, but she knows where I am. She knows. Something crackled in the static air. The cursed evil hung above me where it writhed and threateningly laughed at me. I ran until the will abandoned me. Just as it’s wicked lips caressed my ear, I saw a little girl approaching near. Letti yelled at it, "get off of my land!”. I felt much braver when she’d taken my hand. Letti Hempstock lives at the end of the lane.

Blown To Kingdom Come A wrinkle in time Was your favorite read Pinball arcades Fulfilled my dreams She kissed my nose On tiptoes We channel surfed The late late shows Aeon Flux On MTV Some Shezwuan spice And rich curry We lost the remote Nowhere to be found The volume knob Distorts the sound A mattress was thrown Down on the floor We grabbed a fan And spray bottle One hundred degrees Down on my knees I played for you You prayed for me Oh where have you gone Blown to kingdom come A walk in the park Enjoying the breeze I carved her name Into these trees We lost the time Nowhere to be found Fell from the clouds And hit the ground A wrinkle in time Was your favorite read Pinball arcades Fulfilled my dreams She kissed my nose On tiptoes I smile again And she explodes Oh where have you gone Blown to kingdom come

about

The End of The Lane is a song that was inspired by superstar author Neil Gaiman's wonderful book titled The Ocean at the End of the Lane. It's a masterfully written story that touched my soul, and I'm truly honored that Mr. Gaiman created a drawing for me to use on the front cover of this single. I would also like to give special thanks to John Blaney and Mega Dodo Records for releasing this 7" as part of Mega Dodo's Single of the Month Club, which is the reason why I'm able to offer this single to you here in a choice of either Blue or Black vinyl, and a big hug to my friend Patrice Hawks-Reed for getting me in touch with Neil himself. -Curvey
